"I have fondly named Rachel "The Voice Whisperer". I've had many teachers, but never one who can diagnose, treat and approach issues on the spot like Rachel can. I came to her with some bad habits and was stuck in a rut with my voice but she has completely changed the way I sing and approach the voice. I come out of the lessons feeling amazing and really positive. I urge you to have a lesson with Rachel. You will be amazed."

A message from Rachel.
"I started teaching because singing is, quite simply, the best feeling in the world and I want to help others to maximise their potential! I'm here to help, whether you're an advanced professionals, already working as an artist, or a beginner looking to commence the journey.
I've been studying the voice for over 20 years. As a singer, I trained, on scholarship, at two of the top Musical theatre colleges: ArtsEd, chiswick and The Arts Educational School, Tring park, before spending ten years playing leading roles in the West End and internationally (Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Aspects of Love" and "Joseph", Broadway's production of "Bat boy", "The Tempest" at the Barbican, and an international tour of "Romeo and Juliet.")
My career was almost stopped short before it started, when I was diagnosed with vocal nodules; swelling on the vocal folds from incorrect use and every singer's worst nightmare! With my dreams slipping out of reach, I went on a mission, digging deeper and deeper into the mysteries of how our instrument works. By the time my vocal problems were solved, I had sought help from some of the West End's top vocal coaches, including Penni Harvey-Piper and Mark Meylan (Les Mis, the movie). I explored everything from speech therapy, to larynx physiotherapy, hypnotherapy and nutrition and that was just the beginning!
Now, teaching six days a week, I want to share this knowledge.
As children, first beginning to sing, we form habits of under or over use of the muscles that surround our instrument: the larynx, vocal folds, the throat and the resonating spaces around it. Without understanding, these habits can be perpetuated (even in speech) greatly affecting the sound quality, power, colour and range of the voice. If you're a beginner, I'll introduce you to muscles you never even knew were there! If you're a professional, I'll work with you to maximise your potential, strengthening some muscles, releasing others and helping you to further understand vocal challenges such as safe, limitless belting, register breaks and gaining greater power, resonance and vocal colour.
Our aim is to fully understand the wonders of voice production so that, after exercises, you can forget all about it and just sing!
I teach from my studio in Wimbledon park where I have a piano, extensive music library, microphones and recording equipment.
I look forward to working with you!
