How is a vocal coach led choir different from other choir?
Rachel is obsessed with demystifying the voice for singers, she's created a unique syllabus to cover all aspects of singing, including: resonance, breathing, adduction, jaw hinge release, tongue root release and a free larynx, and how these tie in with tone, range, register breaks and 'belting'!
What songs will we be doing?
All the best MT numbers, from Les mis, to Dear Evan Hanson, to Hamilton, Rent, Songs For a New World, Greatest Showman and so many more.
Do we use sheet music or lyrics?
Whichever you prefer! Both with be provided!
Will we be performing?
Absolutely! We are integrated into the West End world so lots of performance opportunities will follow!
What is an open lesson slot?
Understanding the benefit of solo work and running your own repertoire, we will make space for a solo each week. You can book your solo slot in advance, letting Rachel know what you'd like your focus to be.
What ability do I need to be?
The choir is a mix of professionals, drama/music/dance school grads and non professionals who want to work on their technique, strengthen their voices and have a love of harmony work or singing as a group.
I'm a parent! Can I bring my baby or children?
Yes, we welcome busy parents. Kids are welcome at your discretion! We often have a couple of babies falling asleep to your beautiful singing in the Southfields group!
